Summer is just around the corner, and I am ready to update my nails, so I wasted hours searching for the perfect summer nail designs. I love press-on acrylic nails, so I’m digging for those on Etsy right now.

How To Make My Press-On Nails Last for 3 Weeks
It’s not a big secret. A friend of mine mentioned that her press-on nails last for three weeks at a time, so I begged her to share her technique. Here’s what she said:
- Wash your hands and wait for an hour before applying the press-on. You want your nails to be as dehydrated as possible. While waiting, do the next few steps.
- Push the cuticles up and make sure nothing is left on the nails, as the glue will not work on the skin.
- Gently buff your nails, but don’t overdo it; just get rid of the shine.
- Sort through and pick your perfect-size nails. If a nail is too big, it will fall off easily in a day or two, and if it’s too small, I will look weird.
- You can also slightly file the bottom of the acrylic nail; it would help rough it up.
- Gently wipe both your nails and the bottom side of the press-on nails with at least 70% alcohol so you further dehydrate the nail.
- Apply the glue on your nailbed and add the press-on nail by aligning it from the top (where your cuticles end) down.
- Hold for 60 seconds and try not to move.
- Avoid water for at least an hour – the longer, the better.
- Wear gloves when washing dishes and cleaning your house.
Can I reuse my press-on nails?
You absolutely can reuse them. That’s what makes them so budget-friendly and cool. You invest in a set once, and you can use it several times until you get tired of it.
Make sure you remove the old glue underneath the nails and repeat the process I already explained above.
