10 Ways You Know You Are No Longer In Love With Her

1. Your eyes start to wander

While no one is immune to noticing attractive people as they pass by, it’s a whole different deal when you catch yourself checking those people out.

If you see yourself doing that more and more as time goes by, it just might be that you aren’t as invested in the relationship as you think.

Sure, you might still think you love your girlfriend and live in that stage of denial for a while longer, but if you did have those feelings for her, you wouldn’t actively check other women out. When someone is content in their relationship, they simply don’t need to indulge in such behavior.

So, if you know this behavior isn’t usual for you, there might be different reasoning behind it – you are not in love with her anymore.

2. Her quirks aren’t adorable anymore

At the beginning of a relationship, when you get to know one another, it’s normal to find the quirks and eccentricities of the other as adorable. At some point, some of these personality traits might start to annoy you, which is still pretty standard.

However, when most of them start to seriously get on your nerves, that’s not a good sign. When you don’t love your partner anymore, the littlest mishap can make your fuse explode and can be the source of a lot of anger, frustration, and even resentment.

When you are in love, a story of that time you were highly late for that one important event because your partner couldn’t find her earrings can be told with a funny and playful tone. When the relationship is slowly drifting apart, that same story will be drenched with blame and hostility for the other. The reason is that your feelings for her are gone.

3. You don’t feel attracted to her

I know, this sign seems so obvious, but I can’t make that list without it.

When you are head over heels, it doesn’t matter much what your partner looks like, how they are dressed, and even how they smell (umm, in most cases). You wouldn’t mind cuddling next to them even when they are in their worst shape, and speaking of shapes – you definitely wouldn’t mind them gaining some healthy relationship weight.

If you start finding that your partner has begun to repulse you because they haven’t shaved their legs, or are wearing an ugly jumper, then something must be seriously wrong.

Of course, it’s normal not to be lusting at your partner 24/7 – after all, you are only human. But if you find that you don’t have any desire to seek out the flame that can reignite your attraction, you are pretty much beating a dead horse, and it’s time to go your separate ways.

4. You don’t want to put in the effort

Speaking of effort, yes, relationships require plenty of it. This is why it’s essential to define how we think about the effort in that context. It’s normal for things to get heated from time to time and for you to put in more effort to make things work.

However, if you are putting a lot of effort as of late and you aren’t sure if you like that predicament, then something could be off. Even the worse variant of this situation is when you simply know that you don’t want to put in the effort at all.

It could feel like you can’t be bothered, and just the thought of struggling to make the relationship work can give you a panic attack. In this situation, it’s easy to blame yourself and feel like a terrible person but remember that it’s likely not only your fault.

For some reason, you have lost the love you harbor for your partner, and that is completely okay – don’t be too hard on yourself.

5. You don’t see a future with her anymore

Do you even love her anymore if you struggle to see a shared future with her?

If you aren’t sure you are on the same page with your girl, you might be asking yourself questions like that. I understand your concern – it’s essential to feel like you are walking in the same direction as the person you are in a relationship with.

When you think that this isn’t the case and likely won’t change in the long term, even if you talk about it, the reality is maybe this.

People fall apart from each other, and this is normal. Trust me, there is nothing you or her are guilty of. Suppose you feel like your aspirations for life lie elsewhere. In that case, I suggest you reconsider your relationship and try to make a clean break. After all, you deserve to be happy, even if it means making difficult decisions.

6. You feel disconnected

At the beginning of nearly any relationship, people often find themselves drawn to the other as a strong, invisible connection binds them together.

It’s easy to talk to your partner about anything that is bothering you, and they are often the first point of contact in case of an emergency.

As time goes by, a sense of comfort starts to settle in the relationship. If you feel like you don’t want to share exciting or essential things that happen in your life with them, or you don’t care what is happening in their life in return, that spark may have disappeared. You know what I’m going to say next, right? You don’t love her anymore!

7. The relationship has turned into a routine

While it’s normal for relationships to fall into a routine after a while, it’s never a good sign if they start to feel like a chore.

Being together should offer a sense of relief and comfort – a sort of escapism from the outside world. Even the most mundane and tedious tasks turn into a fantastic adventure when you love your partner.

It doesn’t matter if you swipe the floors, wash the dishes or take the trash out together – it’s always fun when you are together. Organizing a date night isn’t a bother but rather a thrilling event that you both look forward to for your entire week.

When all this effort and being there in the relationship feels like an unbearable burden, that is a sign you are not in love with her anymore.

8. Spending time together is exhausting

Falling out of love can quite literally be tiring to your body and mental health.

If you feel like your partner has turned in some sort of an energy vampire and spending time with them drains you physically and mentally, that can be a sign that you are in a loveless relationship.

Do you feel like walking on eggshells around your partner and your energy levels seep down when you’re together?

Nothing’s wrong with her, don’t worry. Here’s the thing.

When you fall out of love with someone, but you don’t want to let them go, your mind can start rebelling against your actions. It registers that you are putting way too much effort into something that is no longer working. This is why it tries to stop you from going any further, resulting in you feeling drained.

9. You rarely miss her

It seemed like nothing could keep you two apart when you first started dating. Your schedules were coordinated in a way you could spend every single minute of free time together. In fact, you hung out so much that not seeing her for two days literally made your heartache.

If this sounds familiar, you are not alone – most couples go through this stage initially. Naturally, this state of mind can’t be kept in the long term, which is why it fades away at some point.

However, suppose you notice that you actively choose to see your girl less and less, putting other priorities above the relationship. In that case, this is a serious signal that you are no longer in love with that person. Do yourself (and her) a favor and let go, so you can both find someone to miss who misses you right back.

10. It feels like something is missing

One of the most unexplainable feelings that can tell you you are no longer in love is the overarching feeling that something is missing.

You can’t quite put your finger on it, but you can feel it in your bones. Call it as you wish – intuition, sixth sense, whatever you choose.

The important thing is not to disregard this feeling, as it can give you a lot of insight into your relationship’s state. If you can’t determine what the missing ingredient is, it just might be that the thing missing is, in fact, “love”.

Final Thoughts

If you nodded to more than four of the signs above, the situation is clear – you do not love your girlfriend anymore. Your options aren’t many and unfortunately, they will cause both of you pain. But it is necessary that you let her go and find someone who will be in awe of her every day. And the same goes for you. You deserve to be with a woman you adore and can’t wait to hold in your arms.
